UN warns US about the rising Afghan Narco State
Well when you don't finish the job, things always go wrong
Do you know how we're fighting the Opium trade over there?
We are offering the farmers two alternatives and it might shock you if you're into agriculture.
Cotton and Corn
For those who aren't savy about those crops let me give you the gist, Corn, even the Bio engineered seeds do terriblbly in climates with extreme temperatures and they need lots of waters to maintain.
Cotton needs lots of water, more than most of the citizens of the entire country can get their hands on and the successful "Farmers" are, Warlords.
Both cost give average about $15-$27 dollars per crop, Opium varies between $248- $380 depending on who owns the crop or if they are higher quality plants.
We cannot compete with against that kind of economic boom in the region, so unless we secure ALL of the country and bomb to hell those fields or can find a crop that pays out that much money without the downsides of heavy water use They will remain a narco-economy.

Well when you don't finish the job, things always go wrong
A UN report released on Thursday urged the US and Nato forces to fight drugs as well as Taleban insurgents.
It said Afghanistan now supplied 87% of world opium. In 2003, the trade was worth $2.8bn, representing more than 60% of gross domestic product.
One in 10 Afghans are now estimated to be involved in the business.
The UN said it would be an "historical error" to abandon the nation to opium.
